Volunteering/Wwoofing

There is always plenty to do on Opportunity Farm and we welcome visitors who wish to come to the farm and exchange their labour for some healthy food and a chance to learn and share some skills.

Our busiest time on the farm is probably Autumn, when there is plenty to harvest and process, but spring planting, summer watering and winter building projects can be also be busy. Every day there is milking and feeding. This is a also a chance to check on the animals and will often lead to tasks noted on the rounds. There is often fencing, weeding, mowing and firewood collecting to be done.
The main project at the moment is the construction of a small shearing shed and workshop space from recycled materials. We also need to redesign our yards and put paths and beds into our hot house before spring.

Our accommodation for visitors is a renovated caravan which features a small double bed, mains power, heater, cupboards, table and cushioned benches.

We prefer visitors to be self-contained and child friendly. We have no television and very limited and slow internet download. However we do have plenty of books!

Check us out in the Wwoof book in the East Gippsland section of Victoria.
