Why we blog about Opportunity Farm

Opportunity Farm is our home. We raise our children here and wish to share with them a healthy and active lifestyle. We wish to produce as much of our own food as possible, learn from the experiences and ultimately share them with anyone else who is interested in our journey.
We are both educators who have worked in schools in a range of roles from class teacher to principal, learning support teacher to cluster educator. We are inspired by unlocking students who find schooling challenging. We use Brain Gym, Multisensory Learning, Bala-Vis-X, Reflex integration and Initiative Games to assist students to realize their potential.
Our aim is to live a wholesome and productive life on Opportunity Farm and run courses and camps that offer support both to those seeking 'a homesteading life' and those who would benefit from strategies and programs to improve their life through education. We aim to overlap these interests and ideals as much as possible.
This blog is about the activities of the farm and a personal record of our journey from the start of 2015. We hope that anyone who takes the time to view a post enjoys the experience, makes a positive comment and recommends our blog to others who may be interested in hearing about what we are doing on Opportunity Farm.

  1. Thankyou for you blog- it's hard to find anything on homesteading that's not US based. We are hoping to get a larger block than our current 600sm at the end of 2016, and further south than we are currently (Mackay). Will def share. Xx
